I worked my way previously through several of the more well known beginning Latin textbooks and wanted then to begin working on Latin composition. I had heard that this was the classic of such texts. I'd heard correctly! I'm learning to think better in Latin, and I'm only in "chapter" 3 and alr|About the Author||Sir James Mountford was Professor of Latin at Liverpool University.

This frequently reprinted volume is the 'sine qua non' for all who
would attempt to write faultless classical Latin Prose. It is
impressively detailed in explaining syntactical nuances, in its
exemplification and
in the range of its exercise. Bradley's Arnold remains an essential
source.
