||10 of 10 people found the following review helpful.| The best ever!|By karjak|I recently had the opportunity to read Mr.Davis' translation of the Canterbury Tales. Now I am sure I read it way back in school, but a friend gave the book to me.
I must tell you that I never enjoyed the classics as much as this new translation. I have read Gerald Davis' other translations and all I can say is
"Keep up the good work". Mr| |"As Chaucer is the father of English poetry, so I hold him in the same degree of veneration as the Greeks held Homer or the Romans held Virgil. He is a perpetual fountain of good sense, learned in all sciences, and therefore speaks properly on all subjects."-J
