||0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.| typeface a problem|By HoAndron|The idea of this book is to present on one page important vocabulary and a grammatical explanation of idioms and the original Greek used by Xenophon in The Persian Expedition. That said, it does a fairly good job. It is not as extensive vocabulary wise as Geoffrey Steadman's wonderful series explicating Greek text (I.e, Lysias I and Plato's Crito,|About the Author||Stephen Usher was Senior Lecturer in Classics at Royal Holloway College, London University.

This volume, originally published in 1978, offers some 800-850 lines of
the 'Anabasis' in Greek with English summaries of the intervening
passages to give an idea of the whole of Xenophon's exciting adventure.
Notes at the foot of each page assist with content and language; they
assume only basic grammatical knowledge. The edition includes a consolidated
vocabulary.
